Rescuing Dogs From Shelters

I have heard many touching stories of people that have rescued dogs from shelters. All of these dogs have different backgrounds. Some were lost, and were picked up and taken to the shelter. Some were abandoned, some mistreated, etc.. Some of these dogs have physical problems. The one consistant thing I usually hear is that the vast majority of these make great pets. It is a good thing when one of these dogs finds a home with a caring owner. Like getting any pet, you need to take some time and get some supplies to welcome your new canine companion to your home. The first thing on your list should be to find some good dog beds to browse through, and find one that will suit your dog and your home. Next, you want to find some good quality dog toys for your dog to play with. Get some different varieties until you find out what they like best. You are also going to have to get a good dog collar and leash. You can find everything from standard ones to fancier designer dog collars. If you have just brought home a small dog, there are plenty of great quality dog carriers to choose from if you want to carry them around with you.

You will want to also make sure you start your dog on a healthy protein rich diet. For optimal health, you will also want to start them on some quality all natural dog vitamins. Make sure that you get them to the vet also to get a general check up. These things should give you a really good start with your new four legged friend. Hopefully, they will provide you with many years of love and companionship.
